The CAW-BUDD 19+ Ladies Slo-Pitch Rec League was established in 1985 in Kitchener, Ontario through the Budd Automotive Company and in cooperation with the Canadian Auto Workers Local 1451.  Perhaps the league was developed for those who did not want to let go of a great past time and still wanted to have fun even though their competitive days may have been behind them! 

Throughout the decades the league, teams and players have under gone monumental changes.  Perhaps the greatest metamorphsis can be seen in the uniforms, players no longer sport the polyester pin-stripes but rather more suitable attire for summer ball and to complete the ensemble cleats, ball gloves, and aluminum bats, which cost more than the league fees!   We must not forget the hair styles, which have also evolved with the times, for some, even the colour has changed...

One thing has remained constant, the players come out to enjoy playing ball.  There is something for everyone, wether you are a beginner or think you are a pro, you can challenge yourself and participate with many others who do the same. 

It is a great time for everyone and like most sports it is refreshing to round off the day with a few adult beverages on the deck!
